Review summary

We chose to get the unlimited photo package....3 weeks later....no photos. We have no photos of our trip. I might suggest taking your own photos as a back up. First time this has happened to us. Adds to an already bummer trip. UPDATE NOTE: We finally got the photo file.....month late..I still recommend taking regular photos. Just in case

Embarkation

Hard to rate this. The Royal staff did everything to help....but! We rented the Presedential suite for a family vacation. My oldest son, somewhere between Reno and Galviston lost his drivers licence ...thus he was refused boarding. We had to drive him back to Houston ,buy him a return ticket home.needles to say...a real bad start.. (4 bedrooms check out you tube videos) for family of 5. Well my oldest son lost his drivers licence somewhere between Reno and the port of Galviston. Don''t do that!! He was refused boarding. Had to drive him back to Houston and buy a plane ticket back home. Yes, he could get a flight back with no ID (except for birth cert.) Kind of ruined the once in a lifetime trip.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
No real complaints here. Enjoyed the food.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Slides with grand daughter...she wore me out. The mystery dinner was absolutely fantastic. Do it! Shows were ok.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
OK. Not impressive but again ok.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Grand daughter had a blast in kids club.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
In the presidential suite, did not get last bag until after 5 pm. (all bags were bright purple) seems like a no brainer to get them to the room together. One night at 11:30 had a steward knock on our door asking for a serving tray that was supposedly left there. If it was back home he probably would have been staring down the barrel of my 45. We were all in bed, pretty much asleep.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The deck/balcony on the Presidential suite left a lot to be desired. There is no real view of anything. It is indeed large, with a hot tub, but no view.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Nice large suite. Wish my oldest could have experienced it. Again....DON''T LOOSE YOUR GOVT ID!!!!

Ship tip

On any cruise, don't loose your ID.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
Most ports are pretty much the same now days. Everyone selling the same stuff. No real deals anymore. We usually go for the ship. Next cruises (already booked and paid for) Ovation to Alaska (September), Odyssey next March. We will get off the boat in Ak. but not for Odyssey (accept for Coco Kay)

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Roatan has an animal preserve we went to. Grand daughter loved the monkeys climbing on her. The Macaws were fun as well.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Regular tourist stop

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Ditto last.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth

Poorly written with need to spell check and use understandable grammar. Your son’s problem was not an RC issue, pics did come, and remind me not to inconvenience you and get shot. Confusing why such an overall low rating given the bulk of your review.
