Review summary

First Royal Caribbean Cruise + not the last! Awesome boat, great ports, get the drink pass, go to chops one night, do Dunn's Falls in Jamaica, do the tube slide, keep your bags for disembarkation so you can be first group off.

Embarkation

very easy and organized. Our room was ready when we loaded at 11 am rather than 1 pm so that was nice.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Chops - Amazing steaks and wine. Sides were family style and there was more than enough of everything. Waiter was great and entertaining. Main dining - so good like always. Will say there were multiple repeating meals so wish there would have been a little more options. Santana was an incredible waiter.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Hot tubs were lovely, a bit crowded though, but understandable in December. Tube slide and WaveRider were fun, the other slides were slow and a bit boring. Spa was lovely.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment itself was great, however I was dissatisfied with the amount of entertainment. There were only 2 or 3 adult comedy shows and only 1 broadway shoe and 1 ice skating show. They were all great though. Game shows were super fun. Was also disappointed karaoke only lasted 1 hour each night so they only allowed 11-12 people to sign up before it was full for the night and the same people sang every night.

Children's Programs

We had no-one under the age of 19

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Santana (main dining) - incredible, on top of things, organized, always willing to help and go the extra mile. had gluten allergies and picky eaters and he made sure everything was perfect and people were satisfied. Alfina (room) - sweetest lady ever. Was always checking on us, called us by name every day, was always smiling and waving.

Cabin / Stateroom

size was good, was very clean when we arrived, beds were very comfortable. There was only 1 night that there was a creaking noise every 5 seconds sounding like it was in the walls making it hard to fall asleep. luckily it was just 1 night though.

Ship tip

Buy the Unlimited Drink pass - so worth it! Unlimited alcohol (beer, wine, frozen drinks, mimosas, etc.), unlimited Specialty coffee (Starbucks), unlimited pop and water bottles (great for port days), also get free shakes from Johnny Rockets

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Getting into the port for embarkation day was a mess!!! Cops were not very friendly, our uber driver was trying to ask questions on where to go and they kept yelling at us and sent us back to the back of the line since we accidentally got into a bus lane so it added an additional 45 minutes. That was a bit frustrating

Cozumel, Mexico

Rained the entire day so we just did a bit of shopping at the port and ate at Señor Frogs then got back on the boat before noon.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Beautiful port, went to free public beach on 7 mile beach. Our taxi recommended going to a liquor store across the street and buying our own to make it cheaper. bought 2 cases of Smirnoff and 2 bags of chips for $40 instead of paying $10 for one drink. Was such a beautiful day and beach we decided to walk back to the boat. ended up walking about 4-5 miles but it was great!

Falmouth, Jamaica

My favorite due to the excursion. Dunn's River Falls + VIP Bamboo Beach Club - the falls were INCREDIBLE!! everyone should do them. This was all 10 of our groups favorite part of the entire cruise. We ranged in ages of 20-60ish

Disembarkation

We kept out bags and were the first group off the cruise. We were off the boat, done with customs, got a taxi, and were back to our hotel and at our cars by 8 am. We started disembarkation around 7:20 am due to getting back early which was great.
