We enjoyed it, but wish that RC wouldn't nickel-and-dime everything on the ship. It adds up! :O

Review summary

We had a great time on our cruise. I just wish that Royal Caribbean did not nickel-and-dime everything on the ship. Soda or water should be available at any time for the prices we pay for the cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Went very well, and we got our luggage quickly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
At first our portions for dinner in the main dining rooms were a bit small (first two or three nights) but then they started improving.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness centers, bingo, trivia, pool, jacuzzi

Entertainment

5 out of 5

Children's Programs

We didn't have children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service from friendly staff.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were happy with our cabin, the size, comfort and cleanliness. The announcement intercom did not work though, so everytime the captain made an announcement we had to open our cabin door to hear him.

Ship tip

If they want to go when there are not that many children, sail when school is in. We did not and there were a lot of families with young children.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
No, because we were departing from this port.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
It was rainy, chilly, and windy so our excursion was cancelled. Not the cruiseline's fault; these things happen.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Loved it; weather was great and we enjoyed our excursion.

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Our very favorite. We had the most fun here on our excursion and will definitely return.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Even more swift than embarkation; took less than half an hour. We were impressed with how organized they were.

I completely agree on the nickel and dime. I had a family of 5 in two staterooms. Because my 2 daughters were over 21, they wanted us to pay almost $500 for photos from both staterooms. We ended up not buying ANY pictures from RCCL. Very disappointed.

You can order as much as you want in main dining room. Double apps extra main dishes. Under no circumstance should you ever not feel full on a cruise 😎

You can take a cruise where all things are included in your fare, but it will cost you 3-4 times as much.
