Living in Houston means I love to get away to Galveston. I would definitely recommend the beaches, the Bishop's Palace and old town. If you want some water fun the head to Schlitterbahn. If it's something more sedate I would recommend Moody Gardens.

For my family, it was close to home, less than 1.5 hours drive.

Enjoyed visiting Galveston. Arrived a day early and stayed at Harbor House. Close to cruise terminal, but a little too far to walk.

no, did use West Isle Urgent care for our covid tests. Very easy and very quickly done on walk in basis.

Watching from the Port side as luggage was loaded is troubling. The trolley-cart system does not seem to work well at all. We observed several instances of luggage being totally mistreated. We actually watched a forklift driver intentionally push along a suitcase on the cement because he didn't want to get off and put it on a cart. That is unprofessional and unacceptable.
