We live about 40 minutes away, so Galveston is not a novelty to us. Embarkation was a breeze, debarkation was a little rougher, but it was on the ship side getting off, not the customs side. No complaints

When taking a cruise out of Galveston in the winter time please note that a heavy fog may be an issue. Also it may me a bit to cool to jump into to pools and hot tubs. The first day at sea was not a good day to jump on the slide. Brrrrr that's cold....

Drop your luggage and/or your party at the terminal before parking. Have them get in line. Makes it quicker. Be prepared for $10 per cruise day for parking at the port lots, cash. It's a slow process to get on board, so be mentally prepared for it.

Went to Moody Gardens. It was wonderful! The rain forest pyramid was spectacular. Also kudos and thanks Marriott Town Home Suites staff who accommodated all of our needs, and to Lloyd our dear and trusty shuttle driver. Thanks also to Marriott Courtyard for your kind staff and relaxing gathering area.
