We’ve been to Victoria many times, so we didn’t take an excursion here. Victoria is always clean, charming, and very British. I wish we had gone to the Butchart Gardens, though, because the walk around town and back to the ship through Beacon Hill Park pretty much beat us up. We forget that as we get older, we can’t do all the things we used to do as easily.

If I could do it again, I would pre-book a dinner reservation at one of the fabulous restaurants in downtown Victoria. Fantastic options, but really long lines at all of them! We were there for Saturday night, 6p-midnight, so the locals were all out in force enjoying the town and the weather too.

Di not even go out in town as we we told we had to spend 15 bucks per person to get on a 1 mile bus ride into town. Felt like we were taken advantage of, so 15 minutes after we walked off the ship, we went back onboard the ship and had a nice pizza and a glass of wine. Would prefer to not really go here, but I understand we have to stop in 1 NON US Port because of the Jones Act, so it's the LAW. I would spend minimum amount of time in Victoria and more time in Alaska.

Victoria BC is a charming Canadian city and provincial capital with a definite British influence. The Prov. Government building lit up at night is really pretty to see. Go to Butchart Gardens for a self guided tour - amazing, beautiful!
