Seattle is a nice city. It was simply the embarkation/disembarkation point however. It had nothing to do with the cruise.

We flew into Seattle two days before the ship was to leave. We rear arrived around 4 local time. We checked into our hotel. Rested and went for a walk and stopped at Thai restaurant and took the food back to the hotel. The next day we took the train to Pikes Marketplace we walked around, my sister in law, my mother and nephew rode the Great Wheel. We than walked to the the Space Needle your we had already booked a tour. We eat at restaurant that was near the needle. We didn't eat at the restaurant that is at the needle. We than took the the monorail back to where the train was and back to the hotel.

Contact Northwest Tours for a wonderful and worthwhile experience - city, Pike Place, and Space Needle - ask for Yager. Great price and fantastic guide. Use the trolley and Link to help with hills.

Big city. Busy. Pike place market rather boring - an expensive flea market. Space needle reportedly expensive. Taxi's outrageous. $60 from airport to downtown or from ship to airport. On the return, it was an absolute zoo with two ships in port. The taxi line was 30 minutes. It is actually cheaper to take the ship shuttle if there are only two people although the ship sets you up for a shuttle 3 hours before your flight.

Good port, excursion could use some tweaking. Hated the market, loved the space needle.

If you can afford it, worth staying in hotel night before cruise. That way, you don't have to worry about delayed flights and getting to ship on time. Wish I could have stayed in town for a few days after cruise.

If you take the Quick bus from Vancouver back to Seattle- be prepared to wait in line.

Good if you booked an extra day at end of trip; otherwise nowhere to leave luggage while you see the sights
