Nice place, just stay off the Hop on Hop off bus, unless you want to wait for next bus for 45min -1hour.

No excursion this time because is our 3rd visit. We went around on our own and was very enjoyable. Nice little town with a small population. (we tripled it when we disembarked)

You do spend most of your day traveling to the Maori village. Unfortunately, not much time to see the port. Did excursion with private company.
