old town is a UNESCO heritage site - definitely worth a walking tour, but not for the walking challenged

Walking tour with "Tours for Tips" was highly informative. Pre-register online for free! 3 hour tour and included a ride on the funicular.

Do some searching to find transport to Santiago. We used tours by locals and it was great and much cheaper than anything the ship offered

We used a private company in Santiago, and went to the Casablanca wine region and toured several wineries - favorites were Vinamar and Bodegas Re.

Getting the tour to the airport or cruise is hotel is a relaxing way to get between Valparaiso and Santiago which is about an hour or so drive.

We were not able to get off Norwegian Sun. But before we board Holland America to come back to the States, we had a chance to drive around Valparaiso. It is a better place than Santiago. It has many very good quality wall paintings on top of the hills. It is the most European city in Chile.

We did not tour Valparaiso but toured Santiago on our own. We liked Santiago a lot! It was a clean and interesting city.
