Lots of music to make you happy. We did the boat ride in the canal. Saw lots of interesting animals and the ride was very relaxing. Great excursion for those individuals that aren’t able to do a lot of walking.

Our tour was canceled so we ended up taking a boat tour of one of the many canals. The guide was very knowledgeable but it was a very short tour.

A brief stop with many vendors in a market at the end of the pier. Lots of well priced souvenirs to bring home.

Visited the sloth sanctuary, it was informative. Sloths are not very active as expected. The visit also included a canoe ride in the mangrove on site. From the canoe, we saw a small gator, howler monkies, a couple sloths, a crab, a couple lizards. Near the pier there was a large open building with many tourist vendors. Multiple people were selling the same things and they were willing to deal.

In contrast, I absolutely loved the local stalls at the Peurto Limon port, and meeting the locals there. The quality of their goods was also excellent. But don't believe those who tell you they or their relatives made the placemats or painted wood - when you walk around, you'll realise other other stalls hold those items too! As you visit other ports, you'll also realise that some items can be found in each place with that port's name on it... although buy what you want before you get to Mexico! We went on the Vintage Train excursion. The train was ok but we didn't get much explanation about it or the surroundings from our guide, just some dancers who weren't visible to everyone in the carriage and some snacks. Our guide (Jorge) did tell us more on the bus ride there though, especially about the banana plantations, and he and the driver helped us see some sloths in the wild, which was very exciting!

did the rain forest by tram. Rained the whole time. When they say take rain rear they don't mean just a jacket. You get soaked if you don't have the proper attaire or you buy their poncho

Best stop on this cruise, hands down. The culture and ambiance of Costa Rica can't be beat. We went white water rafting, it was incredible. They fed us amazing Costa Rican food and everyone was so friendly and accommodating to travelers.
