Don't need to get up at 5am to experience going thru the locks because we went back out in the afternoon-- the same experience in reverse!

Going through was treated as an event. The narrator gave detailed information of our voyage through the locks . All decks had juice coffee , danish for guest. Even though we had a balcony, we went to crows nest to get full experience.

Amazing! I recommend anyone get up early to see the approach because all the good viewing spots are taken up quickly. From our balcony we could actually touch the sides of the locks. Incredible experience.

Entering the Canal was exciting to realize that the locks were finished in 1914 and still in use today.

Everyone rushes out to get a prime viewing spot, but the ship offers ample spots for viewing and the process really takes a long time. So don't worry if you don't find the best spot at first. Most people take a few photos and move around, so you should be able to find good views somewhere.

Not too early, fantastic weather and buns/coffee/juice served on the foredeck, can it get any better? I think not.

The canal transit was something on our bucket list. The entry was as interesting as we had hoped. The narration provided on the public address system was excellent.

Really enjoyed entering the canal, were on the 4th floor bow at 5 am. I think the people who went to the front of the decks above us probably had an even better view and we couldn't hear the speaker narrating us through anyway so I'd head there next time.

This was one of the highlights. We enjoyed it more than we expected. The captain of the ship was very personable.

Everyone needs to see the Panama Canal at some point in their life. It is an amazing accomplishment, especially when you realize it was created more than 100 years ago and remains fundamentally unchanged since.
