Although the tour guide had a great personality, it did not make up for the disappointment of a mundane train ride through the forest. I also could not understand the guide’s comments due to her accent. For the money, a disappointment!

Kayak Tours and Gatun Locks of the Panama Canal. The tour guide was great. It was really cool to kayak out on the canal. The wildlife we saw was not scary... no caymans (maybe they were sleeping in the nests we passed), only monkeys and turtles.

Did not do anything here and did not look too appealing. Basically just where the cruise ship docked to pick up passengers who took tours from Gatun Lake.

Colon is really a nasty spot--even the locals acknowledge that it is a dump. Get off the boat at Gautun and see something of the canal and spend as little time in Colon as possible.

Nothing much in Colon--stay in Panama City, and take a shuttle or bus to the port in Colon

Due to the strong police presense there I was afraid and there was nothing close to the port to see. The excurtion were too expensive. stayed very very close to the ship.
