Nothing here at port..useless stop

I don't like Cruise ships drop anchor a few miles outside of Belize City's harbor. The only good thing in there are the Mayan ruins (excellent)The tinder boat ride to the port was not bad at all - the water is beautiful, however, once you get into the port area, the water is a greenish brown since the Belize River empties into the ocean. There are some indoor and outdoor shopping/eateries around the port area, but no local beach area. Many of the excursion offered through Carnival were definitely over our budget

In Belize we took the 20 minute water shuttle ride to shore. We didn’t have any excursions planned here so we just did a little shopping and had food and drinks at the Wet Lizard. It was oppressively hot and 96° and it was very hard to breathe through your mask and it is strictly enforced so after about three hours we jumped back on the water shuttle back to the ship.
