Review summary

First cruise and overall we had a great time and it was a good value. I would suggest this cruise to friends.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Considering the amount of people getting on the ship I think it went well. However after reading all of the reviews about how they check everything for alcohol and plastic bottles, they allowed everything through without checking. 12 packs of soda were not opened, plastic drink bottles were never checked. I had a six pack of soda and a bottle of wine in my backpack and it wasn’t even opened.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was pretty good overalll. Burger and frie restaurant and taco restaurant were excellent. Barbeque place was only open 2-3 days and was just ok. Buffet was fine and had plenty of choices for everyone. Sit down restaurant was pretty good. Pizza was the worse I’ve ever had and after a few bites I threw it out. Biggest issue was all of the fast food restaurants had very long lines. Very little late night food.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
water slide was pretty good. We did not use the pools as we didn’t have kids with us.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Piano bar with Ben was the best and us and other passengers went there several times. Ben is great and keeps the crowd laughing all night. Comedy club was great. There is always something to do.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Overall everything was very good because the staff was always very friendly. Bartenders were a little slow and the wait staff in the restaurants had such strong accents that it was very difficult to understand them. The guy who took care of our cabin was Rikey and he was excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean. We were first time cruisers and getting around the ship was very confusing, but I think that has a lot to do with us and all ships are probably a challenge because they are so big.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was me and my wife in the room and it was great. Plenty of room for two people and a balcony is a must. It makes the room seem much bigger and you don’t have to hurry to the deck to see the ocean, just walk outside your room.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

We did the swimming with stingray tour. We got to hold them and take our own pictures. There weren’t any just swimming around. The guide goes and gets a couple and brings them to you. It was very enjoyable. Then we walked around town and felt very safe

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
We did the private island beach day and that was very nice and relaxing with snorkeling an d lunch included. No crowds.

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
This is a small tourist shopping area from what we saw. Plenty of shopping.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We rented a car and did our own tour which included spending time on empty side of the island. Downtown is a lot of shopping but everyone is calling you into their store and that gets old quick
