Did not go to Merida and were disappointed in the city of Progreso, although the shipside pier shops were very nice.

We ended up going to an all inclusive beach resort through a company called AutoProgresso. It was absolutely perfect! All of the food and drinks were included, it was right on the beach with a pool and we also paid a little extra and got a massage! Loved this excursion, super relaxing!

We went in a tour to Chitchen Itza, 2 + hours away, so time at ruins was short. If you really are interested to know about mayan ruins better do it from Cancun

Not too much to do here unless you want to spend high dollars at one of the all-inclusive beaches/resorts.
