We did the dune buggy to Xcambo Ruins and Beach resort. Buggy ride was very good. Beach resort was okay.

It was good in that it was a truly authentic Mexican resort town. American tourists haven't ruined it yet but... not the cleanest place on the planet.

The tour we went on was running late from the start. When we were leaving our tour site, the tour guide miscounted the number of people and we had to wait to make sure we didn't leave anyone behind. This did not give us much time to shop at this port and that was frustrating. We specifically chose a shorter tour so we would have time to shop and we missed out on that opportunity.

We stayed at the beach in town in front of Buddy's Restaurant & Bar. Beach was OK - lots of shells.

This is a fairly new port in Mexico so it hasn't been built up yet. Rather than go to the beach with the other 3,000 passengers we decided to take a cab to Merida...very neat experience with a tour of downtown Merida. If you want to do this leave the ship as early as possible cause it takes about 45 minutes to get to/from the boat.
