Very nice cruise. Good ship.

Sail Date: July 30, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

The Elation is a very good ship. Not the biggest but very good. We had a suite with a large balcony so I know we got spoiled with that. This ship has less balconies than other Carnival ships. The Jr Suites are the size of balcony cabins on other ships. The Grand Suites are very large. Other guests told us that the regular cabins are large compared to other ships.

Pros: Food, staff and overall experience

Cons: Lack of shopping variety on the ship

Recommends Carnival Elation? Yes!

Ship Quality
Very good layout, very clean. Decor is interesting and relaxing.
Food and Dining
The food was great. Dining times are good with show schedules and such. The only draw back was that they start breakfast a little late on some mornings, 7am.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very nice, flat screen tv's. Good beds, good showers, closets are good.
Service and Staff
The staff was very good. I was not impressed with the cruise directors, Steve, but everyone else was great.
Entertainment
The on-board stuff was OK to good. The shore excursions seems really good.
Cozumel, Mexico
Very nice. The water is incredible ! Very Very good place to dive or snorkle. More developed for just tourist.
Don't Miss: Diving even if your not a diver. Sand Dollar does many of the diving excursions for Carnival.
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
It was good in that it was a truly authentic Mexican resort town. American tourists haven't ruined it yet but... not the cleanest place on the planet.
Don't Miss: Take an excursion with Carnival or take the $3 junky bus tour of the town from locals.
