All the reviews that I've seen on progreso were all negative. I wasn't sure myself, but I'm pretty sure we chose the right one. All Inclusive Beach Resort Getaway was really fun. The only complaint was that it we wanted more time to play. The food was good and the place was very clean. Our tour guide Fluffy was so entertaining. We would choose this one again.

Beautiful fishing town. Have been coming here once a year for the last 6 years and it gets better and better each time. The rum excursion is a great way to experience the day there.

Progreso can be a great port, if you are willing to put in a little work to find adventure. There are many amazing Mayan ruins sites within 60-120 minutes of the port, and cenotes litter the region. There are some fantastic tour operators that can provide you an authentic, local experience that is absolutely worth it.

I like progreso but needs to have alittle more things at port to do like Cozumel.port in progreso was a little small but clean.the shore excursion we did was corona beach party .it was ok not what they advertised but our tour guide was the best always checking on us .food from restaurant was good and waiters(clean restaurant)

Progresso is quite rough. I would keep your kids very close to you but of course I would do that anyway anywhere you go. The shuttle to the beach was an air-conditioned bus but I was worried that they were going to run over somebody.
