We didn't do an excursion as Progresso but rather just walked around the flea market and and roamed the street shops and beach. The street peddlers bombarding us with their items to sell got really old really fast. They don't seem to leave you alone. Be sure you don't pay over a dollar for a Corona. The locals try to take advantage of you every chance they get.

Not much to do at the port itself. Finally went on a tour of the Mayan Ruins at Uxmal. One of the best experiences of my life. The lunch as part of the excursion was fantastic. Try the hibiscus drink.

Carlos and his crew were gracious hosts and always kept the party going!!! Lots of fun at the Corona Beach Party with fantastic massages and water sport activities to choose from. Go into town for lunch and you won’t regret it!!!

Had a good time walking around checking out everything and tasting alot of different rums, tequilas, and other beverages while my wife and daughter shopped.

Took bus trip to Chichan Itza Pyramids. Very interesting. Provided lunch was not very good. Too much time driving and not enough time at site. No map of site was provided. Too many peddlers bothering us during the tour.

Prior to cruise, we had read a lot of negative reviews regarding Progreso. We actually enjoyed this stop because it wasn't commercialized like other places in Mexico. It is not a resort but does offer some good shopping.

All excursions were to expensive, so ventured out on our own. My husband and I had a good time. Poor mexican town, beware of hustlers.

We were a bit confussed about where to be and when but there was always someone to point the way. Came close to getting left but they found us. We visited Dzibilchaltun which was fantastic and Merida which I could have done with out.

I was told by several people not to get off the ship. We had a really good sidewalk lunch. Tons of souveineers. You just have to say no to the pushy peddlers. This is a really poor town that depends on the tourists.

I highly recommend doing an excursion! Once you get off the ship, there will be an Auto Progreso tent where you can book something. If you go to the public beach, the only way you can use a chair is if you patron a restaurant. Also, the entire time you're there, people are trying to sell you stuff. It never stops. You can't rest and enjoy the beach because they're always asking you to buy stuff. We went back to the boat after two hours.
