Sat on the beach for two and half hours just wanting to drink some beer and relax. Not exaggerating when i say at least 50 people approached trying to sell stuff. Not relaxing at all.

The port has limited shopping. There are free buses to take you the 4 miles into Progreso where there is more shopping. The town is dirty and staying near the bus terminal is safer. Trips to the Mayan ruins are interesting.

Book an excursion. It isn't developed much for tourists right off the ship like Cozumel. So, book an excursion to ensure you have a good time.
