Good 5-Day Getaway

Sail Date: January 24, 2015

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Embarkation was a breeze. Our cabin was ready by 1:00, so it was nice to drop carry on items off before heading to Tiffany's on Deck 10 for lunch. Elation is well maintained for an older ship. The service and the food were good. The entertainment was below Carnival standards. There was a review the first night, the second night was good with the singers and dancers featured. The third and forth nights were game shows, hosted by Steve, the Cruise Director. the last night was a show called WIN. It did not. Disembarkation was well organized and went smoothly. The cruise was a good value.

Ship Quality
Decor is dated.
Food and Dining
The food is good and had an interesting variety.
Cabin / Stateroom
The cabin was a good value. The windows were dirty.
Service and Staff
Our cabin steward did a great job. We were well pleased with the dining room staff.
Entertainment
Just Rock was very good. The other shows left a lot to be desired.
Children's Programs NA
Onboard Activities
There is room for improvement in this area.
Destinations and Excursions
Cozumel is great. Progreso is about Mayan ruins.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Parking and boarding were easy.
Cozumel, Mexico
This port is our favorite port for shopping in the Caribbean.
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
The port has limited shopping. There are free buses to take you the 4 miles into Progreso where there is more shopping. The town is dirty and staying near the bus terminal is safer. Trips to the Mayan ruins are interesting.

Tip

Afternoon Tea Time is worth attending. The service is good and there are some good treats offered.
