Not much happening, saw small ruins, missed Cenote because of algae / bird droppings / human yuk. Beach club was pleasant but SMALL.

We did not go into the city further than one city block. Definitely not for me. But the port was a lot of fun. The tiki bar right where the ship docked was fabulous. So much fun! Lots of shopping in the marketplace.

We should have listened to the other reviews. We got off the boat and took the free buss to the port. As expected, the people hounded you for the sales and that is OK, a friendly NTY and they would leave you be. That was until we got to the beach, there was one man trying to sell me his sister, between that and the 7 or so dogs roaming the beach we left and didn't get off the second time we stopped.

We visited Chichen Itza through Carnival excursions. Great experience! Know you will be driving for about 4 hours that day, but the bus is cool, comfortable, and has a bathroom. The guides were INCREDIBLE. Super informative, interesting, and funny. It's a great time to see some of the Yucatan as you pass through towns on your way to Chichen Itza. Shortly before arriving to Chichen Itza you arrive in a town called Piste to use some very nice bathrooms, grab a sack lunch, and do some shopping if you wish. While at Chichen Itza you are able to see a few of the most popular sites. The actual grounds are huge, so know that you will not come close to seeing all that it has to offer while on your tour. This being said, what you do see is incredible, and the guides provide great insight.

The hurricane damaged the dock at Progresso so we had to turn around and go to Cozumel early. It was ok, been to Progresso before and didn't miss the pushy people selling stuff.

It would have been nice if we weren’t bombarded and cheated by hawkers. Loved the old Mexico feel but can’t be enjoyed bc they won’t leave you alone!

Progresso must be a fairly new cruise ship stop - they are not as comercialized as other places I have been on cruises. I liked the fact that their markets are more like outdoor bazaars and you can interact more with the local people. Be careful with children because the markets are full of things that I consider "pornographic" right out in the open.

It’s a lot of hagglers on that port . Every two steps I was asked did I want a massage or come in my store , it was so annoying , but they do have a free beach you can go to just have to get on a free shuttle bus (tips are accepted) to get there and they are signs to direct you to the beach once you get off .
