Go to the beach and go para-sailing. My wife also found a great place for a massage. Way cheaper than at the spa on the ship!

Went to the Golden Zone shopping. Later to recommended Shrimp restaurant. Excellent food. Hired a taxi, for oceanside drive back to the ship. Wonderful experience. Language no problem.

Mazatlan was a much more industrial type of port. The boardwalk was great but the industrial feel of the town was still easily discernible.

We went on the Sierra Madre tour which was amazing. The tour was 7 hours long but every minute of this tour was a "don't miss". Our tour guide did a great job of explaining the sites and the bus driver was the best I've ever seen. I have truly never seen more beautiful country than what we saw on this tour.

To get to the beach, we rode a boat through an ugly, industrial area which was very polluted with garbage floating in the water and smokestacks puffing out smoke. On the beach, the hawkers would not leave us alone, selling jewelry, trinkets, hats, etc. They don't take no for your answer and when one goes away another starts.
