Review summary
After this Mexican Riviera cruise, I prefer Caribbean cruises. It was cold at sea. The ports----Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Licas were nice but nothing special. The excursions were not very good. The food on the Ruby Princess was pretty mediocre. Communication regarding procedures was poor. Anytime dining does NOT work. Long lines to wait for dinner just to get one of those restaurant beepers to wait some more. The evening shows were entertaining, but that was all there was to do. Everything on ship was a big sales pitch. Fortunately, we had a balcony cabin because there was nowhere to go to get away from mobs of people. I never experienced crowds on other cruise lines. Overall, not very impressed with Princess or this route. San Pedro is a dump. I would rather leave from Fort Lauderdale or Galveston. Although, one plus was the embarkation process was quite efficient.
