Transportation here is a problem. I would have liked to see more of the Island north of the port, but I heard that getting a rental car was difficult. The nearby beach was great for snorkeling with the turtles!! The market was very nice for interesting trinkets and fruit.

WE WENT ON THE KONA BEACH BLAST. WE WERE LOOKING TO SWIM IN THE WAVES. THERE IS A NATURAL WALL THERE THAT BREAKS THE WAVES WAY OUT FROM SHORE. THE LUNCH WAS AWFUL. NOT A RECOMMENDATION UNLESS YOU JUST WANT TO SOAK UP SOME SUN.

Black sand and snorkel kind of a disappointment. Heard that the beach blast was fun. The best part of this, is that when we were on the catamaran, the humpbacks swam over to our stopped boat, and swam under and around us. It makes you speechless. If you can, go between Dec-April

The tender was horrible because it took up half of shore time and so we could not see anything more than a mile. Berry disappointed with the cruise at this point. Should have started on the other side so we could all just go over to Kona.
