We were surprised, not a problem with the tender boats. Not a long waiting time.

Amazing snorkeling - Kealakekua Bay (with kayak trip), Two-Step, Kahaluu Beach Park. And of course Kona Brewing Co. We booked our own tour and saw things on our own instead of going through the ship excursions. We also did some of these on days before the cruise started.

I did the zip line activity on this island. Taking that first step off the platform was scary but the guides were absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend this excursion!

Tender port. Very clean and small. Lots of shopping and the market should be a stop. Get some fresh fruit. They are delicious.

We went on the Historic Kona tour with Roberts. We visited Puuhonua National Park, The Painted Church, and the Kona Coffee factory.

My favorite port. Enjoyed the tender in and everything was within walking distance. Lots to see and do.

Kona is totally different looking with all of its lava fields but we took an excursion that included a hike and a swim in a waterfall. I will never forget this experience.

You will have to board a tender boat to get to the island. You may have to navigate some steps to get down to the boats and be prepared for long lines waiting to get off. But, it is worth getting off the ship. As soon as you got to the dock, there was a beach. There were several large turtles that you could see swimming in the beautiful blue water. It is also a beautiful island. There were several vendors near the dock where you could buy things. The person we had planned to take a tour with never returned so we boarded an open bus and rode around for $2.00. We were dropped off at mall and then caught a free shuttle to Walmart. It was nice sitting down and still be able to see some of the island.
