Review summary

This was a trip that we will never forget. We enjoyed it with great friends and have a wonderful time. While the ship is not the largest or the most fabulous, it was still adequate and the staff and crew could not have been more friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone that has never visited the Islands and also to those that have.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We did not eat at any of the dining rooms. We did enjoy the buffet for breakfast each morning. We enjoyed most of the specialty restaurants onboard. Our only complaint was extremely poor service in the Italian restaurant.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
N/A

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were good just not at the caliber of the larger ships. We saw a comedian one evening who was funny but definitely for adults only.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were warned before we sailed that the service was horrible. I have to say they were completely wrong. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All of the areas seemed very clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room itself was small but adequate given we were in port each day. It could have used more storage space. It was clean when we arrived and our room steward made sure everything was kept clean. The bathroom was extremely small, especially the shower. We did have some issues with the toilet not wanting to flush every once in awhile. The balcony was amazing! It made up for the small room and bathroom. We spent a lot of time out there. The view was so nice. There were two lounge chairs and also two regular chairs with leg rest.

Ship tip

If you do not like a small room or bathroom, you should upgrade to a suite.

Ports of call

Honolulu, Oahu

5 out of 5
Honolulu is obviously very touristy but still a very special place. We rented a car and toured the island.

Kahului, Maui

5 out of 5
Maui is a beautiful place. We snorkeled at Molokini Crater, swam with the sea turtles and also took the Road to Hana.

Hilo, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Hilo is very wet but oh so green and beautiful. We took an excursion that included a trip to the Volcano, Rainbow Falls, an orchid garden, the macadamia nut factory and a beautiful beach.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Kona is totally different looking with all of its lava fields but we took an excursion that included a hike and a swim in a waterfall. I will never forget this experience.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
Kauai is lush and green and amazing. We enjoyed an excursion around the island as well as a luau. The luau show was awesome, food left a little to be desired. We also took a helicopter ride with Blue Hawaiian. This is an experience of a lifetime.

Cruise Napali Coast, Kauai

5 out of 5
We took a helicopter ride up to the Napali Coast and it was breathtaking. Cruising along this same coastline was another perspective of its beauty.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was somewhat harder to get off the ship but only due to the massive amounts of people trying to do so at the same time. The staff and crew kept it moving and we were off without hitch.

We are going on our seventh Pride cruise in a few months on the worlds only US flag cruise ship. We love the views and ship staff, who are not your servants as some expect. All executive staff and 80 percent other staff are US citizens and all are governed by US labor laws, unlike all other cruises. Everyone has always been great and it is fun to hear where they are from. We have met so many passengers and staff from all over the world. New adventures and some repeay faborites on each island. So much cheaper and less gasske than wasting time flying to each island.

Great review. The majority American crew on this ship had a difficult time when they started doing this itenerary over ten years ago. They had a lot of turnover. This is not a job for everyone especially Americans. But after a couple years they got it straight and found crew who wanted to be there and worked hard. They are different from a typical crew but not necessarily worse. Interaction is way better and it is neat communicating with these young people who could be your nextdoor neighbor. They deserve a better reputation.
