Did our own thing. It is what it is, nice city, quirky but crowded around St Marco and Rialto. Lovely and peaceful and much more genuine if you head East.

What can't you say about the splendour of Venice! It had been flooded when we arrived so change of port ro Trieste. Water had receded when we returned and centre was easily walkable around. Everyone should visit this marvelous city at least once in their life.

wonderful city and historical place; private tour of St. Mark Cathedral and Doge's palace made this visit special. Wondered through the mazes of streets and canals. Jet lag made us somewhat limited in the hours we could spend withint the city. Would return without reservation.

Beautiful city but the tour was the worst we have ever had. The first guide was very nice and helped us get to the location via boat. She handed off to the older guide but stayed with us. The older guide spent WAY too much time in the one church giving endless details. As we left the church, we asked the guide to find a place for the ladies to go to the rest room. She said 10 more minuted every 10 minutes afterwards. It was about 30 minutes before she finally released us and even then had to give complicated directions for finding a restroom. We were held captive because they would not tell us the meeting point until she released us. Even the nice guide tried to get the older guide to have a restroom stop but she ignored her.

Great from afar did not go in. Visited Murano and Burano two lovely alternatives. Burano houses are all painted different colours so the fishermen could spot their houses from the sea.
