City very nice but biggest problem is no public restroom. I believe you need to make sure the passengers are aware of this inconvenience. I took the shuttle to the city and strolled on my own.

- Did great free alternative walking tour here and loved it. Did NOT cover old city but OK since mostly tourist trap now. Your started at noon so spend morning looking at old town site which few people around. - City walkable from port. - There are 4 old zeppelin hangers at south end of city that turn into food markets. This is a must see and was past of the tour. It would have been nice to spend more time there but we usually don’t eat much off ship (to save $ and avoid stomach issues). But I would have bought some smoked fish there since the seafood hanger was cool.

Did a self-guided Hop-on/hop-off bus tour combined with a walking tour of the city. Really nice art-nouveau district, so a must for architecture fans. Nice park right in the middle of it. Would come back!

I almost liked Riga as much as Tallin, however, we were forced to use RCCL as Shore Excursions group didn't offer any tours in Riga. We were not happy with this tour. Way too many people could barely hear our guide, and overall were not impressed by her either.

Riga Is a nice town with lots of old buildings. We decided not to do an excursion and walked around the town some. We met a college professor who gives tours on the side and so we chose him to give us a more detailed tour of the city. This lasted over an hour walking all over the place even into some quaint shops that he knew about and gave us a lot of interesting history. It was well worth the payment he requested.

It was a pleasant little city but not one I would choose to visit or visit again.

Similar to Tallinn, Estonia, but not quite as authentic. Our tour guide was good and had a sense of humor.

We enjoyed walking around this quaint city and having lunch. Also enjoyed an organ recital at the large cathedral. Love shopping for amber also.
