We took a tour called the Treasures and Taste of Naples. Probably the best tour we took. Included a tour of the old city to include the Cathedral and a lunch at a restaurant that included pizza, wine and dessert.

A taxi driver who speaks English is a goldmine here--taxi's are roughly 30.00 an hour and a good driver can take you to Pompeii and you'll still have time to see the town...the pizza in naples (Marios near the port) was the best meal of the entire trip--it was absolutely awesome.

We took the excursion that brought us to Capri, Sorrento, & Pompeii. Capri & Pompeii were wonderful. In Sorrento, they herded us on to a small bus & brought us to a shop that made inlaid wood. We had time on our own before lunch, but were no where near a shopping district. This was very self-serving on the part of the tour guide.

Naples is not the most prepossessing city -- visit historic Pompei or lovely Sorrento when stopping here.
