We enjoyed the Bari city tour and the tasting of local products which followed. The people we met were incredibly gracious and accommodating! After Venice, their kindness was refreshing.

We rented a car and traveled to the 'cave city" of Matera- wonderful. I missed traveling to the town with the interesting architecture- but I've traveled through the region earlier in the year, and found them fascinating

Visited on a Sunday, so most shops closed. Unless you did an excursion it was hit and miss what you found. Head towards the old square for better artisan shops and a wonderful ice cream bar near pasta street!
