Marseille is a wonderful city, so much to see! We got the free port shuttle to the new port (cruise shuttle is €14 and goes to the old port) and you have to walk to this from the ship and then to the old port if you want to visit the cathedral etc. The little tram up to Notre Dame is worthwhile but just walking around the old port and soaking up the atmosphere is special. Lots of great shops too.

Dirty, busy, slammed full of tourists - and disappointed to know we were a $15 shuttle bus ride to get off the pier into town (5miles, 8K)

Aix en Provence is a beautiful town to visit. 40 minutes from the port.

A lot of time in the bus but the sights at the quarry art exhibit and the two villages of Provance were delightful. Got to use my high school French!

Time was tight there, so we hired a taxi to went to 5/6 places to take pictures.

Aix was a pretty town, but the tour was not real interesting. We did get a good amount of free time which was nice.

We took a shuttle to the old port and it was beautiful, we had lunch in a cafe and took a tram to a hillside cathedral for a beautiful view

Bike Adventure was fabulous, although note that just because it is an electric bike doesn't mean you won't use your leg muscles....we had spaghetti legs afterwards. But it was the best way to really see the city.
