We did a metro and train trip to Cassis, only wish the stop in Marseille had been 2 hours longer

Walk from terminal by following that the green line. Catch a bus into the town. Shuttles and taxis are very expensive. Was not impressed by Marseille.

This is a beautiful French city. My friend and I chose to visit a beautiful cathedral on a hill and it was a great choice. The taxi driver was a bit curt with us but otherwise, it was a pleasant visit

Marseille is a very busy city (France's 2nd city) and crossing it on the excursion to get to Cassis, a pretty seaside resort, took quite a while. Once arrived we took a tourist train to get closer from the out of town coach park, closer to the harbour. Once arrived we split from the group to go to the far side of the port to swim. The beach was not pebbly as I was expecting. Had a lovely swim in the Med which was the purpose of the trip. Too much time spent on the coach though for my liking. Afterwards we went back to the harbour and had a delicious lunch at the Marco Polo restaurant. I do however prefer Toulon to Marseille as a port of call and the lovely Villefranche is my favourite.

We went into Aix in Provence and walked around on our own. It's a beautiful city to explore on foot, with lovely shops and restaurants. Markets and shops around every little corner.

There is a free shuttle from the port - you just have to find it!

Again, the excursion was cancelled, and the replacement one was pretty dull.
