Wonderful little town. Didn't take a tour. A shuttle was provided into Kirkwall from cruise port. Wonderful place to see sights and quaint shops. Very relaxing day.

We found the people here less than friendly and we understand that Crystal will not be returning in future years ... A good decision. If you find yourself here Skapa and Highlands distilleries are interested. Do not go to the "Merchant Bar" in town ... The people are totally unfriendly and may well ruin your visit to Kirkwall.

This was a tender port. The excursion was nice. But after our excursion, the line for the tender boats back to the ship was over an hour and a half! Hundreds of cruisers were waiting in the rain and blistering wind. They didn’t have enough tender boats as they were breaking down.

Really enjoyed this stop-Yesmaby to Skara Brae. Invigorating walk took about 4 hours. Scenery was just so beautiful-rugged and lush. Had time in afternoon to walk around town and do a little shopping-lots if fun!
