Prior out of season experience of this port left a negative feeling; but this time the tropical flora Norway excursion to flor & Fjære island was fantastic- small corner of an island rioting in colour and whisking you to the Mediterranean ❤️

I like Stavanger and have been a couple of times. Just walked ashore and went to the maritime museum which also allowed us to visit the canning factory, not our first choice but as it was included went to visit, and really enjoyed it. Not the cheapest port of call but really enjoyable.

We visited in June 2017. We booked the Lyesfjord cruise to Pulpit Rock, which was absolutely stunning. After lunch back on board, we decided to wander round the old town which was quaint and charming.

Amazing port, had good sunny weather so that was a bonus. I don't recommend taking the ships walking tour as, if you do what I did, just walk around yourself! The ships usually Dock pretty much in the centre of Stavanger so there isn't much of a chance that you would miss the ship. Great port visit!
