Review summary

Lovely cruise from start to finish. Excellent service and great ambience. Enjoyed it so much we’ve booked two more with Cunard. Enjoyed dressing up for the formal nights and liked the dress code overall. Sea days passed so quickly as there was always plenty to do. Great speciality restaurant the Verandah where you could have excellent steaks.

Great choice of food and excellent quality. Good choice of drinks and speedy and courteous service.

Onboard Activities

Good choice of activities. The was something to do all the time if you wished. I joined in several quizzes and listened to some excellent lectures. I also went to a gin tasting session.

Entertainment

Really enjoyed the band Next Step. The evening entertainment was varied and of a high standard. I especially enjoyed the comedians.

The service was excellent. Staff were very attentive and greeted you by name. Had a great rapport with waiting staff at dinner. Room steward very friendly and professional.

Loved the Art Deco design and the grandeur of the interior. Everything was clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin clean and a good size. Only downside there was nowhere to put the cases as they did not fit under the bed so had to leave them at the end of the bed which made it a bit of a squeeze passing each other.

Ship tip

Shore excursions were mainly sold out prior to embarkation so need to book as early as possible.

Worth looking around the old town as well as the lake. Contrast of old wooden buildings with the more modern area.

Worth taking the train into Sweden. Beautiful views especially if coming back at sunset. Need to check train times carefully if not on an excursion as there was only one train back in the afternoon.
