The approach to the cruise terminal from the railway station was not well marked. At one point we went down the ramp to the small ship terminal then had to climb up the steep stairs (with heavy luggage) to get back to the ramp that went to the main cruise terminal .

We went two days early, but really could have used another day in Amsterdam. The tram is an awesome way to get around. Book Ann Frank house tickets online months ahead of time. We booked a canal dinner cruise for Lovers for our first night. We booked online before we left home. It was an awesome way to see the city. The food and the staff were wonderful. It was the perfect way to end a 20+ hour travel day. We stayed at the Park Amsterdam Hotel. It was an ideal location with excellent accommodations. Watch out for the bicycles!! They are everywhere!

Didn't have an excursion and there was a national public transportation strike. It took forever to get a seat on one of the Hop On Hop Off buses. Wish I would have known to go to a different pick up spot and not the one across the street from the airport. The canal boat tours are better than the buses.

We enjoyed Amsterdam. We had been there before so we decided to do a hop on hop off canal cruise which we booked from Shipmate. Next time we will pay more attention to the desk on Deck 5 with information about the port. It took us a few days to realize that desk was there.
