Visit Amsterdam before / after cruise for several days and wish to tour / see sights. Have a close look at the " I Am Amsterdam " card. good for trams, bus or subway + various sights and includes a 1 hr canal cruise. Well worth looking into

Departure was a real adventure. Decided to walk to Central Station. Just across bridge. 15 minute pulling bag. Once inside bought ticket on train to airport. Lift up to platform. 20 minutes later arrive inside airport. My best idea ever. Walk was great exercise before the long flight to Arizona. Incredibly large airport. Delta check in was quick and then another long walk to gate. Very good restaurant selections close to gate.

Spent 2 days after cruise and had private driver. We had tickets to Anne Frank house but no one else on ship did. Would have been helpful to others if they told them you had to book 2 months in advance or offered them as an excursion

Beautiful walkable city. There's so much to see and do. Mind the bicycles, they have the right away. Use the hop on/off to get away from city center and explore other areas of the city.
