Rented a cab for half day.. My mistake that I did not book and excursion. Went to Acropolis and Parthenon. A wow moment and went to Olympic stadium. Very cool. Cut day off ship short because of demonstration and strike.

Once again we hired a taxi driver who took us to the Acropolis, Parliment and directed us to the perfect spot to stand to watch the changing of the guards, Temple of Zuess, Plaka, and a flea market. He then took us to a restaurant for lunch but we got the impression it was an agreement between our taxi driver and the owner of the restaurant.

Must see Acropolis. Plaka is neat to sit and have a snack or drink. City is rather dirty

Although our guide for Athens was outstanding, your don't really need a guided tour. You can take a taxi to the Acropolis and the main shopping area/restaurants are within walking distance.
