Did the Athens & the Acropolis. Athens is a bit shabby. Way to many people at the attractions, would hate to be there in the summer as was crowded in May. Seeing the size and architecture of the buildings was worth the steep crowded walk up. Make sure you wear good non slip shoes!

The city itself we did not care for. Very large with a lot of traffic and not the cleanest. But we went to the Acropolis which was Amazing!

We took the panoramic excursion of Athens which we enjoyed saw Hadrian's arch, the statue of Lord Byron, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Constitution Square and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and finally the Acropolis from a distance. Also got to do a bit of shopping. Guide was great on the tour and it was great for Mum as no walking.

Athens simply MUST clean up! No city in the world has ever been as graffiti-strewn. Similarly, and unfortunately, the Acropolis and Parthenon are in terrible disrepair and need a major, major infusion of funding soon if it is to remain on the earth!

The guide on the excurision to the Acropolis was awful. She was only concerned about selling us watches and jewelry so she could make a commission. She repeated the meeting point instructions at least 10 times and then she herself was not there and the Costa employees came and had us all go back to the bus. Crazy and not worth all of the money.

A very busy port, there were 5 cruise ships in when we went. Did the Athens Panorama excursion and it was a late one- not until 2pm so was in the hottest part of the day. We visited a temple (can't remember the name and an arena). We saw the Acropolis from a distance so managed to get a decent photo and it was covered in scaffolding. Had a short while to souvenir shop and have a drink.

Hop On Hop Off is best option for Athens. Disappointed in all the graffiti, which I understand has become a problem since Olympics were held here. Acropolis is pricey, but has spectacular views.

Took an excursion to the ruins. Great place. Very much enjoyed this trip. Saw a lot of Athens. Had a great day. Very busy. Had 3 small school age boys (with a teacher standing near) come up to interview us on our vacation in Europe. Then gave us a small gift for taking the time to talk to them. They done a great job

Amazing port to do without paying an expensive excursion. Once we got off the ship we went straight to the taxi section and planned on just getting a ride to the Acropolis, taking a photo then back to the boat since I heard it was so dirty and gross... We completely lucked out with a driver named George and split the cab for the day with another couple looking for a cab ($130 US for all 4 of us) he took us all over the city and to his friends restaurants for lunch and a REAL Greek lunch (also cheap). I'll attach a photo of his in my album if anyone wants to look for this gem of a driver!
