A cruise for my Mums 80th birthday. Was incredibly apprehensive as I’m terrified of the water but was truly a wonderful experience. Definitely would do again and with MSC. Things people complained to me about we’re things that they’d experienced differently on other cruises I had nothing to gauge by but I think you have to enjoy everything for what it is.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was really simple & quick. They gave us priority boarding which I hadn’t requested in advance because of my Mum so that did speed up the process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Only ate in the buffet, choice was good for dinner and breakfast thought lunch could have had a bit more but it did depend on what time you went.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Didn’t really do much this was a cruise for my Mum’s 80th birthday so we just relaxed when we weren’t off in port.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Only saw one show in the theatre but it was great and I was told that was better ones we missed. Music around the ship was always nice to just sit and listen to.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
There was some really great staff who I loved chatting with. Literally everyone we saw always said ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’. Staff were always so helpful and considerate with my Mum.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Bit hit and miss. Room was generally clean but there was room for improvement. There was cigarette butt on the balcony from the time we arrived to the time we left. The ships layout was simple enough once you figured which lift you needed to get out of.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Cabin was ok it had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable.
Ship tip
Enjoy the experience, don’t compare it to any other cruise just enjoy it for what it is.
We didn’t do an excursion as they would have been to much for someone with walking difficulties. I actually thought this was a waste of port unless you do one, there wasn’t really anything to do where you get dropped off on the transfer bus.
Loved this little port again didn’t do an excursion just walked around the little shops and sat by the water but it was a beautiful day and one of our favourites.
So faced 2 of my fears here the tender boat and the cable car. Both wasn’t as bad as I thought. We just walked round the shops and sat and had a drink overlooking the beautiful views which were amazing.
We took the panoramic excursion of Athens which we enjoyed saw Hadrian's arch, the statue of Lord Byron, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Constitution Square and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and finally the Acropolis from a distance. Also got to do a bit of shopping. Guide was great on the tour and it was great for Mum as no walking.
Loved Corfu we took a little train ride to see some sights would highly recommend this. Then just wandered round the beautiful little streets. Wonderful jewellery shops here.
We got up at 5am to see the sail into Kotor on the recommendation of a friend and it didn’t disappoint. Breathtaking views. Loved this stop didn’t have long here so just wondered around. Oh the one thing is when you get into the port you are literally besieged by people trying to sell you excursions that can be overwhelming but just say no thanks and carrying on walking.
