Rome in a day is tough. We booked a private excursion through Shore Bee. They waited an hour for us as our ship docked late. The delay cost us the ability to get inside the Basillica. Our tour guide, Neal, was absolutely awesome.... a real history but that brought the historic side of the city to life.

WE stayed in Rome for 3 nights after the cruise. Enough to see main sights.

The port was fine. Your staff really needed to be out there directly people to the free shuttle buses. It was so insane. People were pushing and mobbing the buses. I felt so bad for people with small babies in a stroller or luggage. The experience was horrible.

We did na independent exploration and it urned out great. I do think that the cost of the transport into the city and back was very expensive.

We stayed in Rome overnight and went to visit the Vatican on our own. What an amazing experience. We went to Mass, my sister was there two days later and saw the Pope giving mass. So lucky.
