I love the city, but given that the port is far from the city, it would had been nice to had stay longer. Keep in mind that if you missed the train back to the port, you're done. Might as well take a train to you next destination because they don't run every 15 minutes.

We took the bus to the train station to Rome. Stay away from the unathourized cabbies - they will rip you off.

We did a private tour with RomeInLimo. It was the best tour we did.With so little time in the city, you really need to be with someone who knows the city. If you are going to spend money on a private tour this is the place to do it.

Not much to see in the port. Pretty far from Rome, so the tours are quick and give just a brief Rome overview, but worth it if you have never been before.
