We extended our stay by 2 additional days in Rome. If you are an ancient history buff this is the place. A lot to do, always on the go. Great food.

We left our luggage at the Kolbe Hotel in Rome. Then we set out for a walking tour of Rome. We were her 12 years ago so didn’t need to see the big places on the inside. We walked to the Pantheon first. This is free to get in so we walked in and loved the history here. Then we got gelato. We walked to the Colosseum next and around the streets looking at all the ancient ruins. We then had lunch at the most amazing Pizza and more restaurant. Called. Massenzio AI Forti Ristorante from 1985. We actually ate there 12 years ago on our last visit. It is close to the Colosseum. We did some more walking and then returned to check into our hotel. Kolbe Hotel was a nice hotel with friendly employees and not very busy. We ate dinner here which was very good. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. The Breakfast was very good. It had many things to choose from. The grounds are well kept and the view out the front is of the ruins but a little noisy. So if you want quiet take a garden view. We went out for an evening stroll along the river.

There is not way you see Rome in a day and enjoy it. The bus ride from the port is about one and half hour with good traffic. This was a very long day.

This was our departure site. Not much to say about it. Very industrial but we were processed in very efficiently.
