Didn’t do a excursion, been to Rome before went ashore in Civitevecchia a nice town with a lovely market and sea front.

Took train to Rome its about an hour very reasonable cost less than £10 return. Did hopon bus bit disappointed as thought would get to see all the sights, bus takes you too nearest stop and collosium etc are average 15min walk from stops.
