It is apparent that the government has difficulty mainting the buildings as they own them all, not the citizens. That being said, I found it interesting to see ruins adjacent well preserved structures. The inhabitants were friendly and grateful for the tourists which supplement their income. At dusk we stopped to rest in a plaza and watched the city come alive. People congregated in the square telling stories, kids and dogs played. Cats lounged lazily nearby. It was remarkable to see how mobile devices and electronic media has yet to corrupt the populace. Honestly, I feel fortunate to have experienced this city, memories made and cherished. The city has a burgeoning art scene which was once suppressed for decades. We acquired a few pieces from talented artists. We also got an inside look into a fully operational cigar factory, not a tourist made up factory but and actual government controlled facility. That was amazing.

Interesting place. People were friendly. Take toilet paper with you, restrooms did not have any or very little toilet paper especially in women’s restroom.

Our first day we enjoyed the Classic Car tour offered by CruisesOnly , but our driver did not speak English so we learned nothing of the buildings and other sites we passed. Everything was beautiful to see, but I feel somewhat cheated. As for Havana, I am still smiling. It is charming, friendly, inexpensive ($1.50 cold beer), and scenic. Keep in mind that very vew locals speak English, but it is nice to visit a port with no street vendors, no haggling. I'll go back to Cuba soon.

The city, the people and the experience was well worth the cost of the cruise.

Absolutely loved Cuba. Booked classic cars tour around Havana through Marella discovery 2. Had a lovely lady driver and tour guide. Drove around Havana visiting tourist sights in a convoy of classic cars. Everybody lovely and friendly. Would recommend

Havana was totally worth seeing! I felt the people were friendly and outgoing. I never felt unsafe, and we walked all around old colonial Havana. I was truly amazed at how clean the city was. No trash blowing around, no graffiti, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing Cuba again and getting away from the city to see how the locals live.

The port was nice. If you have US dollars convert to Euros before the trip. The tariff for US dollars is a little high. The city is beautiful! We did a tour of Havana.

Even though the ship did not want you to book things from local people we didn't have any trouble at all and definitely enjoyed our own indidvidual tour in an old city car. We had a 1952 Chevy sedan with air-conditioning. The local guides were excellent.
