Plentry of options. Warning...our excursion was to Xcaret. A cool place....but we spent 1.5 hours being transported each way. Took way to much time out of the day so we didn't have nearly enough time at the destination. But, the underground river was beautiful and relaxing.

Tendered in with no problems.....no stairs to use. Shopped until we couldn't anymore. Got off the beaten path to the little shops and filled up on souveniers. Had a grand time.

Skip Cozumel all together. Go to Playa Del Carmen short boat ride and go to the TULUM ruins which is an hour away. This is reminescent of great sites like Giza and the Acropolis, makes you feel connected with history and humanity. You can also bathe in the beautiful beach at the ruins.

Snorkeling is to die for. The water is unbelievable and it is amazing to see what lies beneath! The catamaran snorkeling trip with a beach day, drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) included was the way to go. Good shopping and fun to bargain...Diamonds International, better prices than US but not as cheap as everyone hypes them up to be.
