Review summary

We've traveled on other cruise lines before, so our experience base makes us a little jaded. Carnival is a lower-end ship.....but there is a good value for the dollars. Our expectations were lowered before boarding.....and we had a favorable cruise. The great weather and good friends helped. But, there were no problems in accomodations or service to issue. We would sail Carnival again if we were wanting to manage budgets....and just have some good family fun.

Ports of call

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

We just wanted a day at the beach. We had 10 kids in our group who weren't interested in arch. sites. Most people warned us away from the beach. Said it was not spectacular & was murky. But, coming from Galveston beaches we thought it was excellent. Warm, soft sand, you could go way out and still stand in shallow water. I guess it's all a matter of expectations. No cost involved.

Plentry of options. Warning...our excursion was to Xcaret. A cool place....but we spent 1.5 hours being transported each way. Took way to much time out of the day so we didn't have nearly enough time at the destination. But, the underground river was beautiful and relaxing.
