St. Maarten was great. Beach & shopping were walking distance from he ship even though we took a water taxi. We enjoyed walking around, but would have loved to have had an excursion to see more.

We have been to St Maarten several times. We have been on the Golden Eagle (LOVE) a few times. This time we went downtown. The effects of the hurricane is still evident. Also the jewelry is not what it was in the past. The prices are less expensive at various venues in the states. I really wanted to by a certain piece of jewelry and I found it. But I had already seen it in the states for 500.00 less. When I told them this, the salesperson just walked away.

We've been here at least twenty times. The downtown area is in bad shape. This is the best island to buy booze with the largest selection and lowest prices. They always sell for less than their posted prices.

I really enjoyed the Orient Bay beach trip, which included a drink and light lunch, VERY much. That tour also left some time for shopping in Philipsburg, which is in close proximity to the harbor.

we did the beach by the Port, be prepared to be approached many time by someone trying to sell you something or offer you a massage.

Loved this port. Although our original excursion was cancelled we were easily allowed to change to the bus tour that took us on the French and Dutch side . Our guide was AMAZING. He was so knowledgeable and such a great personality. Our favorite port!
