Review summary

After many hours of research we chose Royal Caribbean to take our first cruise with & are so glad we did!  The service from the crew was top notch from cleaning to the captain.  They were always pleasant with smiles & even knew our names.  Vernon & Estivam in the main dining room were exceptional...they took very good care of us & spoiled us!  We were definitely "Wowed" from the moment we stepped on the ship to the moment we stepped off.  We discovered new things everyday & enjoyed the many activities that were offered. The shows were awesome especially the ice show.  Our favorite ports were Coco Cay & St. Maarten.  We did do the wave runner at Coco Cay & that was fabulous! We do recommend booking excursions at the ports because we didn't at St. Thomas or St. Maarten and will next time.  Although, we enjoyed both ports we feel we would've been able to experience them more with an excursion.

Be sure to get a balcony well worth it! Ours was a bump out that faced the front & gave a fabulous view as we were sailing.

Ship tip

Be sure to take the dance lessons...they were a whole lot of fun! The pizza is fabulous! Don't use your curling iron under the smoke detector because it also is a heat sensor...I set ours off & we got a call from the Bridge & a visit from the security staff!! Be sure to order room service!

I'd recommend booking an excursion. We did not & found it a little disorienting to try & find our way around. Didn't spend a lot of time because it was too hot to walk around so we went back to the ship.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

St. Maarten was great. Beach & shopping were walking distance from he ship even though we took a water taxi. We enjoyed walking around, but would have loved to have had an excursion to see more.
